TD5 90 Defender, 93kMiles, on a long run I get a high pitch squeeling from wjhat I beleive is the gearbox/transfer box area but it might be communicated from soemwhere else its very dificult to tell the source.
Its sound woringgly metal on metal and get louder as time goes on.
When stationery there is no sign of it
Any suggestions would be appreciated

Check your drive belt for adjustment, as it could be that one of the tensioner bearings might be getting a little tired.

Thanks fellas its happends at constant speed at or around 50mPH
I will check drive belt, many thanks
Any other ideas welcome

Does it happen in 4th and 5th gear, just in 4th or just in 5th?
That would give a clue to it possibly being engine rev related.
