My Disco has done over 160,000 is there an oil anyone would recommend for an high mileage engine

10w40,15w40,mineral is fine ,change regulary is key

I agree with James, regular changes being more important than overall quality of oil.

I use tractor universal oil bought in 25l drums and change it regularly.

what do you guys call regular..? Every 6 months ok on less than 12k miles a year..?

My son disco 1 has 249k and still runs sweet, oil change every 5k inc filter .had the car since 92k on the clock, engine service like previous mentioned, best mark

My 1998 Disco 1 has 205000miles on it, oil and filter every 6 months at landrover dealer, just been through MOT and the tester said the emissions were better than some newer cars.
Touch wood it runs sweet no smoke,when it's not stuck in a f**kin car park with a buggered ignition barrel that is ..........

Perhaps you should have oiled your key more often
