Guys,

I wonder if someone can help me out.

I have a 1995 4.6 V8.

This model does not come with a high level rear brake light and I am pretty sure I have seen somewhere that there was no provision in the loom for one of these for this year. Anyway thats not the issue as I am sure I can get round this bit.

However, I have managed to pick a light up cheaply and was looking at how it fits into the tailgate.

It seems the location (knock out) in which it fits is bigger than the light itself.

I have looked in RAVE but not much info in there.

So, the info I'm after is:

1) Is there a surround fitting that makes up the gap?

2) Has any fitted one of these lights?

3) Does anyone have any close up pics of the light in situ?

Cheers

It says in RAVE fit rubber finisher to make up gap. Part number for proper lamp is PRC7644. In Microcat it says use parcel shelf extension when fitting to none factory fitted units. Apparently you need the proper parcel shelf extension, you can't fit the lamp to a none high level lamp extension. Without trouble i would think. Loads of different part numbers all no longer available. Give Emmotts a ring.

Wammers,

Where in RAVE does it say that? And what is Microcat?

Defender, thanks for the pic. Mine looks nothing like that - in fact it is flush, which leads to think there is an additional trim piece needed. This maybe what Wammers is referring to when he says the "Parcel Shelf Extension.

Cheers

You Sure it's the right lens ect, looks like lens has an additional trim around it to me witch then goes underneath the bottom of top tailgate plastic

Cheers for the help guys.

Looking at the Microcat, I have the shelf without the space for the light, which means the only thing I can do is either botch it (not a real option) or obtain the correct shelf.

So I will look to see if I can get the correct shelf in grey.

Any one got one for sale?:D

Thanks for the swift help guys, much appreciated.

Cheers
