I myself like 'lights' :D especially xenons, however will only fit HID's if I can get the right pattern and not blind people.

When I fitted my facelift D2 lights, I took them all apart and fitted projector lenses into them so I can then upgrade to HID and still get the right pattern. Also fidded some DRL's and also smd LED clusters for the indicators and sidelights ;)

Here is a pic which sort of shows the projectors fitted...

However these lights seem to fill up with water the instant it rains (and its not due to lack of re-sealing them, as I have gone through god knows how much Tiger seal!!), so am looking at some other types of headlights, like the universal projector type...

and and then just welding up the front end with a wod of metal and then fitting the headlights into the metal....function over beauty and all that, but hopefully will still look ok once I am finished. Just waiting for some responses to come back from contacts in Germany and USA to make sure I can change the shutters to have them RHD and not LHD.

Cheers mate - always a 'proper' job with me :D

Plus 4 MOT's and no issue with the lights - shame about the rest of the Disco  although my last MOT was the first time it sailed through - not even an advisory, so at least I am heading the right direction

Will do a write up once I know how/what I am doing when I change the front end again with a new headlight setup.

fitted halfrauds +120's to my 200tdi & X-T, brilliant (no pun intended) - would never use standard 55w again.
