Are they actually HID's or just coloured bulbs?
Not being funny at all. It seems a great price for HID's but I understood that the HID's ran extremely hot so standard reflectors melted, and you had to have auto adjustable lamp levelling because they were too bright (something like that anyway.
Any thourghts on this would be appreciated because I have quite fancied HID's for some time but I understood the kits cost hundreds of pounds.
Andy
the bulbs dont actually run that hot, mainly due to the low power consumption of the bulds.
i have a kit on order, went for 4.3k as i wanted the extra light.
Just had another thought while I was laying in bed this morning (why I was thinking of this while laying in bed is beyond me), You have fitted HID's to the dipped beam, will that not sort of eliminate the need for the main beam since the HID's will be so much brighter.
Or does the shape of the dipped beam reflector mean you still get more light out of the main beam?
Or is it the case that both dipped and main beam bulbs should be replaced? Looking at the installation photo's, there isnt a lot of room left for more ballasts, relays and the like.
Where did you buy the kit,Of which Ebay person. The standard lights are rubbish
Stownrow do you have any photos of your lights close up from the outside. I was wondering what the bulb looks like through the clear plastic lense?
cheers
