Lots of good help and advice on here. But if you’re looking at buying a Landy and living in London, be aware that it could well be subject to the LEZ...
 
I am aware but I shall be moving out of London due to university so that's something that won't worry me and my house isn't in the boundaries of the LEZ

Welcome to Landyzone, it's nice to have a few younger members. Keep away form the 'anything goes' page if you're easily offended. What model of landrover are you interested in?

Thx for the heads up about anything goes page but It takes something extreme to offend me. I'm particularly interested in series 3 109s station wagons especially the 6 cylinder and late defenders, but tbh I like all land rovers

In that case, make sure you get to drive one before you commit to buy, they are very different to a modern car and good luck.

I changed my BMW for a Mazda 6 sport, it was great car but it was thirstier than the BMW. I had a few BMWs but the last one was nothing but problems, hence the change.

My thinking is a series 3 u don't really see them, with some light modification it would suit my needs, like my dad's learning to drive so he will have the mazda and I will have the land rover alongside my rover 214si r8
