Hi, I'm new to the Landyzone and new to Landys, I have just had a 110 300tdi refurbished and I'm well chuffed ! Even the wife likes it ! Only 1 small teething problem, the diff engages but the warning light doesn't show, can anyone explain where the switch is and is it easy to check ? Thanks

Howdy Bob and welcome, cant help you with the switch but someone will, but get used to lights noy working:D

Hi Bobs,

I'm a newbie too and also getting to grips with the diff too. There seem to be plenty of well-informed folks on here - it's fun reading all this techno stuff - looks like we'll not be having any problems when our Landys break down!

the switch is on the side of the transfer box its either the switch or the wire it the switch and welcome by the way ;)

thanks, I'll have a look tomorrow. I noticed a couple of wires on top of the transfer box but access is difficult to say the least - could these be the right wires/switch.

The switch is just above the High -Low operating arm on the photo. On the second photo trace the wire from the nut to the switch.

thanks for the pics Grunt. Please excuse my ignorance - I've located the switch, well, more like, I can feel the switch from below, what's the best way to access the switch and test the wiring, etc. Cheers !

The easiest way to get at the switch will be through the transmission tunnel or the drivers floor panel or both unless you've got long thin fingers and a lot of patience, in which case attack it from underneath. All the switch does is interupt the earth from the bulb, so one of the wires attached to the switch will go direct to an earth point and the other should have 12v coming out of it, check with a multi meter or a bulb and piece of wire.

Just realized today that the easiest way to get at the switch is through the panel under the middle seat. Unless of course you've got a pigpenesque cubby box.
