I have just purchased a range rover 1996 2.5 and it has a problem starting when it's cold. I have checked all the glo plugs and they are working perfectly and after some research I read that a common problem is the glo plug relay. I have googled where this is located but to no avail 😞. Could someone please tell me where this is located as this is the first range rover I have ever owned and really don't know a lot about them. So please please help before I burn out my starter trying to get it started when it's cold

Sorry to disturb you again but do you know where the fuse is for the replay. In the post link you sent me it said it was in the same place but I can't find it

Where abouts are you? if there is someone local to you they may be happy to pop over and point it out for a cuppa and a bicky..

The link the other man sent me was perfect I found the big silver bit and it's not broke but I'm not sure if that's the relay or the fuse

Does the glowplug light come on when the engine is cold? How do you know the glowplugs are good? Have you put a meter from one glowplug to earth to see if there is voltage there?
Glowplug relay fails only rarely. If the fusible link fails, it usually due to a duff glowplug.
If the glowplug light doesn't come on, it could be the engine temperature sensor for the EDC. The gauge uses a separate sensor.

Yes the glow plug light comes on for about 8-10 seconds then goes out as it should, after a lot of pain, blood and extreme cold I think it was one of the glow plugs was not working correctly, so I replaced them all and at only 5 foot 2 1/2 inches it was not a very easy job, I spent most of the time either sitting or kneeling on the front bonnet landing panel lol but I'm hoping the problem is now sorted but tomorrow morning will tell lol fingers crossed.

My missus wouldn't know how to lift the bonnet. Well done.

You comment does not seem relevant. The FIP should not be touched unless you have some knowledge of what you are doing.
