Hi there I bought my first defender 90 pick up cab (1989) just over a month ago for a little project. My defenders fuel pump is making noises and on its way out its a tdi 200 with a TD5 engine and gear box because of the year the fuel tank is still under the drivers seat and was just wondering if it's an easy fit plus do I buy the td5 fuel pump for it. Thanks

There's no fitting on a 200 tank for the fuel pump which normaly fits inside the tank on a td5 !! Is your vehicle fitted with an inline electric facet pump or has your tank been modified to fit a td 5 pump!! If its the inline pump then you may just need a new pump !!

I think the tank has been modified only reason is because the chap I bought it from supplied a spare 1 and looking online av compared it to the the pump that goes in the tank. Al need to check this for myself tomorrow if it is the pump inside the tank does the tank need to come off or can I access it under the seat.
