Well guys, that went really well.
£187 plus vat with free delivery for the full set of air bags from Island 4x4 and 3 hours trouble free work and the air bags are done.
The system took a while to sort itself out when I had finished, the fronts weren't raising to top lift but after 5 or 6 attempts they got there and now it seems to be working perfectly.
Now all I need is to see it still pumped up in the morning!

Thanks again for your help and advice.

Sorry, I don't really belong in the RR section.

Hi Everyone,
I'm a newbie to The Landy Zone, but have been driving various ones since 1971. Having just had the same problem with the suspension on my P38 I bought two 'as new' bags from Ebay for £87 along with new clips. The air springs that arrived looked brand new and have transformed the driving of my beloved car. I serviced the compressor at the same time (also with a kit from a Landy supplier on Ebay) and it is like new. Just keeping an eye out for a front set now to complete the overhaul.

Whatever you do... don't go to coil springs - The P38 isn't designed for them and I have heard some horror stories about handling post-fit.
Cheers,
Mike Lawrence

Well it's 3 days on from fitting the 4 New air bags and all is looking good.
I have noticed it takes some time to lift from standard height to max height so I'm thinking the compressor needs a refurb, going to order the refurb kit tonight.

I'd start by draining the air tank, chances are there will be no difference but l'd check just to make sure its not half full of water.
