Hi

Got a 2003 discovery 2 td5 es manual, first one I have owned, based north Derbyshire. 114 K on the clock but blowing some black smoke when accelerating along with a sooty coating on the exhaust tip!

Hello from another newbie..still saving for my Land Rover though so maybe up and running for next winter!

...that would be the diesel then! :p :D

WELCOME!

Do you know if a previous owner has had the engine remapped? More power may result in more smoke now and again I'm guessing.

Not sure at all, turns out the egr and the manifold were up the duff, so being replaced free on warranty.
