Hello all,
Tomorrow I pick up my 'new' Disco
It's a 1999 V8 ES Auto in Kinversand with beige leather, 7 seats and (thanks goodness ) an LPG kit.
I have bought it unseen from somebody I know who has been very honest about the condition. I am gambling that this is better than buying from somebody just down the road who I have never met before!
My last two cars were German and built like tanks. I am assuming I will need a sense of humour owning an older LR product but hope to be proved wrong!
I already know a few things don't work. Once I get my hands on the vehicle, I will do some searching and perhaps post a query. The engine, cooling, gearbox, brakes etc. are all supposed to be in excellent order.
The main intention is to use as a spacious family vehicle. I would like to do an LR Centre course and try a little light off roading but the car has under-slung gas tanks so I assume I will be a bit restricted in this regard.
If you have any advice for a total 4X4/LR noob for the 4 hour drive home, now is the time to post it!
Otherwise, I only have one question: Do I call it a 'car', a 'truck', or what? I am assuming there is some sort of convention ...
