Hi my 2004 Freelande td4 engine, steering getting rough and screeching sound, power steering oil level OK, any other obvious cause for rough and scratchy noise steering

Hi,

If you put a new pulley is which is tighter than the old one. If one pulley or tensionner is in bad condition you will get some noise.

It's likely the bottom damper pulley has failed. It's a common issue on this engine. Only have genuine or OE pulleys used.
