I am looking to get a hi-lift jack for my 90 and was wondering what size (4 or 5 foot) people find most useful. There is only about 2 quid difference in price, so cost is not an issue, but the 4 foot version is obviously easier to store in the back of a 90.

Do you get any real real benefit from the 5 foot version? I appreciate that if you are in a deep rut, the added 12 inches may help, but has anyone with a 4 footer ever found that they could really have done with the bigger version?

Similarly those with the 5 footer, do you ever wish you had the shorter version and do you find storing it easy enough?

I am looking to store it internally, hence the question as there would be no issue if mounted on external brackets.

4' will fit across the back of the bulkhead on brackets. 5' won't.

I've never come close to the top of me 4' so can't really see the point in a 5'.

the only time i wished i had a 5 foot was lifting me landy out of deep ruts and the board it was on started to sink i didn't quite have enough hight to get the landy out so i re-positioned and got it out on the second attempt

disagree completely!!

i have a 5' across the back of my bulkhead and it fits. only just, but it does fit.

why buy a 4 when you can get a 5? you may never need it, but that one time....

I've got a 5' for my Series and I'm slightly regretting it as it's a bit to big to fit anywhere useful.

The best place I've found so far (on the inside) is it sits quite nicely in the groove where the roof meets the hard-top sides, just built a little bracket to hold it in which is attached the roof-hardtop bolts near the passenger seat's head. It fits quite neatly there but as yet haven't had a need for the 5' and I took the same attitude as it was only a couple of quid difference went for the bigger.

measures exact 5ft end to end.
