Good Afternoon,

To cut things short i have been working at a Land Rover retailer for quite some time now and decided to offer my assistance where i can. I am not sure if this type of service is already offered so apologies if i am stepping on anyones toes.

If any of you require a FSH or DDW of your vehicle, please submit the full VIN, registration and a note on what you require via PM to me and i will send over everything in a PDF when i get 5 minutes.

Just giving something back

Well that is very true, the last 8 is all that is really required to provide full details looking at it.

Again its just something i am able to offer in the job role i am currently in, a DDW would be useful for customers who wanted a complete listing of all vehicle fitments, a OSH / FSH is a quick and easy method i use day in day out.

I work for a Stratstone retailer. The reason i offer is its something i have done with other jobs i have held in the motor industry, like vauxhall and such which went down well with the members on various forums.

Completely understandable in all fairness.

FOC of course, more requests may result in slightly longer lead time of course. I use TOPIX and a number of tools on a daily basis.

Defender we have no idea and no mention as of yet when it may be.... Jaguar i can tell you an all electric XJ has been seen around and arriving soon.

think seeing that the defender is the icon of land rover many people are keen to finally see what they’ve done, but know it won’t be anything like the old one in design and one can only assume be extremely electronically heavy

did land rover ever get to the bottom of why some Discovery 4 s we’re snapping there cranks , or is ur field just in sales plse

I can only imagine its going to be going down a route similar to that of the all new discovery. It will very likely be marketed as a luxury vehicle rather then the workhorse of old. Sadly.

I personally do not know as its out of my field of work. I can ask around though.

cheers , i think ur spot on there with it being a totally new design and will be interesting to see the final design

like many of us, ive been a loyal customer in owning landies for nearly 30 x years , but know progress must be made with the newer models and with them not being like landies of old

thks again

I think everyone would be happy if JLR could actual build decent vehicles, but they can't. We've had numerous buy backs for vehicles "not fit for purpose" broken down over the cause of 1 year multiple times...if they can't build them properly then there is no point building them at all.

You may or may not know the ed4 evoques are currently on hold at he factory and no new orders can be submitted, most likely due to emissions failings.

Where would you recommend posting my offer of FSH and DDW and data on the forum?

agreed, but don’t think land rover are any different from other manufacturers where things go wrong , another reason i’ve always bought second hand landies , then most of the issues should in theory be ironed out

think in anything goes i imagine , seeing that’s the main page, but of course plenty of banter as it’s anything goes , lol

Oh well, the offer was good till it went to AG and the OP will get ****ed off with LZ never to return.

I don't know why people get so hung up with people not wanting to know the Reg or VIN numbers of their cars. You just have to look at a car and you can see its Reg No - so why mask them out in pics on a forum? You can't necessarily see a VIN number just by looking at the car, but there are free to use web sites over here that use data provided by the government - you tap in a reg number and it displays registration data, including the VIN, and historic data such as WOF (MOT) tests, whether they were passes or fails and the millage the car had done at the test.

hey i'm still here waiting to help those who want any assistance :)

Only offer mushed up transfer cases unfortunately.

You should get a boat. Much less load on the gearbox, as there are few gear changes, and usually only one forward and one reverse gear.
And the waterways are uncrowded at this time of year, much less stressful than vehicles! :)

It's a security risk putting yer reg plate on line. It means anyone can use it as fake ID for their vehicle. If you don't show it online then only those who can physically see it themselves can copy it. This reduces the risk massively. Some years ago there was a forum where a member drove to another members area and put their reg though some speed camera's. Wasn't a LR forum.

I think there's plenty of online webcams that Freelander drive through and enough pics in the public domain anyway. Its being rather silly in my mind.

That's true. The chance of someone watching a webcam to get the correct type/colour car to copy is slim. It won't be clear enough to get the reg plate. They would either look around for one or take the easy option and look ont web. Peeps who see my hippo know my reg plate or have opportunity to copy it. Anyone ont web can see it if I put it up. That opens up the risk massively. If they can't get my plate they will get someone else's. That's their problem and not mine. Over ere it's more difficult to get plates cut without doc's, but not impossible. If yer plate is stolen or copied and used for something naughty and the police get involved then it's you they're after as the registered keeper. It happened to someone I know of and the end result was their vehicle was put int police pound for a while (my idea) as it wasn't her doing it. By this time she had enough offences to loose her license anyway. Her plates went through another camera while her motor was int pound. That's proved there was another set of plates the same ont road. It didn't solve the problem of the previous times her plates were caught by a camera. It took some time to sort all of this out. It may seem silly to some but hiding the reg plate it's a level of security some choose to do.
