Ive been a member of this forum for 50 minutes and already have been told off for not introducing myself before posting a question!

After many years of owning daihatsu fourtraks ,and loving every one of them, I decided to buy Land Rover defender as The daihatsus are getting reare,

I'm not entirely convinced about the Land Rover as yet ,but it certainly has character,!

I Use my vehicle every day as I live on the side of the mountain and have to drive through two rivers to get my houce,

I'm hoping the Land Rover will improve my Spanering ,and it's something that I want to share with my son (it is simpler than the fourtrack)

I hope this suffices to pacify the person That I upset earlier!!

Ps what is it with grip plate an landrovers? ;)

Introducing yourself is polite, in a real or a virtual setting! ;):)

And you really should have been told off for admitting to having driven Japcrap as well! :D

:welcome2: to the loonyzone, and I hope you learn enough to prevent you falling into evil ways again! ;)

I don't understand some peoples chequer plate addiction either, a few are useful reinforcement as you crash through the bushes, but there is no need to cover your motor in the stuff!

50 minutes??

The forum went easy on you. What kind of Land Rover is doing the convincing? Hopefully not a P38 or a 1.8 petrol Freelander.....

I suspect 'Land Rover Defender' is a clue :p :p

:welcome: Celt, don't worry about being told off, it happens and is the only time you're likely to be asked to do the polite thing :D

its a x fier sevice f rege defender 110 in red , I am growing to love it , far more fun than the fore track , I just miss easy starting ,being worm and dry , ( I sound like a real softy)

If the f reg is its original plate, it wont be a Defender110, just a 110! ;)

That should be a really good vehicle, 90/110 are a very good landrover, and becoming increasingly sought after.

If it doesn't start easily, there is a problem, they are quite capable of starting on the first compression every time. :) And it is possible to get an acceptable heat from the heater, check your matrix isn't blocked up, and the heater cables and controls are connected, and working.

Defenders started in 1990, I think. :)

Unlikely to be a reliable as your Fourtraks (Rocky) and not sure it will be simpler, my Fortrak was pretty simple. You my find that it has more rust as well as more character:rolleyes:
:welcome2:
