Hi guys, just joined up as I bought a military spec 110 FFR with a 2.5 NA recon engine, R380 gearbox, all round disc brakes, wolf wheels with Michelin MXV tyres. Drives fine (albeit a little agricultural as you would expect!)

Just thought I'd join up in case I need to call on the expertise of some experienced Landy owners or if I can share my experience with anyone else.
 
Hi, looks great, more or less similar to mine. Do you have any idea why the head light are tapped for the continent? is it coming from our side of the North sea? (see my location):)

The provenance I had with the vehicle showed that it had spent most of it's time in the UK (certainly that's where most of the work on it had been done). Although you never really know where it had been stationed in it's time, could've got all over the place.

I'll see if I can locate the maintenance folder I got with it and I'll post the regiment and any other relevant info here.

I think there is some way of checking what your Landy has been up, don't know if its online or you write off to somewhere or another. It's definitely been discussed before though, (never took much notice though). Might be worth having a search pal;);)

I can tell which regiment it was in when it was serviced, was very low mileage and appears to have spent most if not all of it's life in the UK. Think it was around the Somerset area.

Looking for the History of your ex-military Land Rover? Military History can be hard to find out in detail. But the MOD did keep records of what units and regiments vehicles were dispatched to, which is a good starting point.

If you are a Member of the EMLRA (Ex-Military Land Rover Association) a member called Peter Barratt can do a search through the new Merlin System for you for £5. However I have had this done and all they could find was year of purchace and year of release from the army as most information on older Series vehicles is not available on computer. The newer Defenders have a better chance for success through Peter.

The RLC museum in Deepcut can give more detailed information as the records for this age of vehicle are on card index at Deepcut, I think it's £25 for a search.

Hi mate, if that question was directed at me, got it direct from Witham last spring. Been sitting on private land since then but fancy using it for a bit of fun, any suggestions for insurance which won't kill me?

Just for the odd green laning session like and perhaps LR show?
