We are organising an overland trip to Egypt, for a small group of Adventure Scouts

The route will take through Europe down to Greece, ferry to Cyprus on the Egypt.

The aim is to meet various scout groups in different countries along the way.

I learnt to drive in a Land Rover 110 in the Sultanate of Oman, driving about the Omani desert at the age of 13, whilst I visited my farther who worked out there.

Having driven most variants during my Army career, Station Wagon for VIPs, Fitted For Radio (FFR), Snatch, Battlefield Ambulance (BFA) and weapon plat formed Wimik across some of the worlds harshest and pot holed terrain, Canadian Pirie, Poland, Kosovo, Afghanistan and Iraq.

The Vehicle of Choice is the Land Rover Defender 110 /130 with a 1 tonne trailer, it’s these two pieces of essential equipment that require sponsorship.

We're looking for sponsors / supporters

In return, there will be a links to your site in addition a huge thank you on the official sponsors / supporters page. We have a website although not yet published www.overlandscouts.org a work in progress

Through out the entire expedition a travel blog will be updated on a daily bases, including Video uploaded to You Tube.

Morning Martin. Being a Soldier and Scout leader could I kindly suggest that a better way to get your trip advertised on here would be to post it in the SPAM section (not as bad as it sounds and we all read it). To slam your size nines in straight off only antagonises the other members who will think your only here to advertise and then bugger off. I for one would like to hear more from you as we obviously have the same interests. I have even driven 110s in the Oman.:D

Apologise if this seems to be spam, was not my intention, but the raise awareness of our project

Apology accepted. But do stick around as you can see from WLM's reply we have seen an awful lot of "Good causes" show up post one advertisement and then disappear. We take a lot of pride in Landyzone its where all us Landy Loony's get to meet up and chat and share our common interest. Its a bit like me walking into your Mess having a beer p%ssing on the floor and walking out again:mad: Now do you get where we come from:scratching_chin:

We have satellite comms and a panasonic CF-18 rugged laptop to keep updates through out the expedition... but what we really need is a Land Rover 110 Defender....

If you got a spare £1 or more post it to us with your name and address... become a support or sponsor if you are a company

We aint going anywhere ! not disappearing !!!

Cheers Guys

Martin
