Welcome too from an X-Pat Yorkshireman livin dahn't south
Also a felow S1 owner.
Obviously with a D plate its been re-registerred, what year is it?
Is it an 80", 86", 107", 88" or 109"?
As it is a series 1 you should be MOT exempt now but sometimes it can be hard trying to convince the DVLA if its an ex military without a proper build date associated.
If you have the old chassis number & engine numbers then the Land Rover Series One Club (LRSOC) are a great place to get help.
Hi yes it d reg 88". what I know about it at the moment is this it was built on the 27th January 1957, and went strip in to military service coming out in 1966 with the current reg. the chassis number is 111-8-01347 have sent a letter and a check to the rlc museum at deep cut barracks about a month since to find out more about its history still waiting to hear back

Talking to the mot tester were we take the cars at the garage I work for as we don't currently have an mot station and he said they go on the date of manafactar and not the date of the reg. but won't be MOT of that's the case because it will always be checked reguly once back together

I like to keep a thorough ey on my 80" but not being a mechanic bits can get past me. I always pop under my cars for an inspection during the MOT if possible.
However will be underneath it a lot soon as I should be getting my new leaf springs soon. Its getting a nit of a makeover this year.
Parabolics all round, new s/s fuel tank and galved tank guard, also threatening to take the seats to the uphosterer down the road from me.
Oh all ££££ eh back in 2005 it had a long bench seat in the front both the bit where you bum goes and back were one long price not 3 individual seats and this was perished to back then we bought 3 new seat bottoms still in the loft in bags waiting to go on
