I'm new to this site and just wanted to introduce myself, I'm Ricky ( bugger) I'm from Norwich and currently rebuilding my 1982 series 3 petrol but only got 2 months to do so lol so no doubt I'll be on here asking questions left right and centre lol nice to speak to you all .

Hi Ricky! I'm also rebuilding a series 3 petrol but from 81. Get some pics up! I'm just outside North Walsham.

My landys chassis is pretty crispy but can't afford a galvanised one some I'm having to patch it up but have put new dumb irons on spring hangers and an outrigger have lots of pics but don't know how to upload them is your 81 in bad shape ?

Hi Bugger. My landy's chassis twisted on the road on the way back from MOT centre and when we took the body off, the chassis crumbled apart.... So she wasn't in the best state. The chassis from the centre(gearbox area), foward is in really good shape and there was just a few spots of welding to do on the front legs. I also cant afford galvo, so went and bought a rear half chassis from Famous Four..... And just slid it on to the old chassis after a clean up and welded into place!
It's great! You should consider doing the same, if your chassis is in bad order.

I wanted to put half chassis on mine but on a mega tight budget but I have an old disco chassis I'm using for good metal as its the same 4.5" by 3" box so I'm just creating repair panels and just welding them in where needed but going to be saving for a galvo so hopefully this time next year should be on a galvo chassis with a 200 tdi lump in her
