HI,
We are a middle aged couple who live in a farm cottage down a farm lane with our 2 young border collies. Therefore, a Disco has a practical application for us, at least that is what I have told her!!, as well as satisfying my mid life crisis (so much better than a motorbike).
We love going on long dog walks and just being in the country where I was raised, even learnt to drive on a C plate Series one Land Rover, why did we not keep it!!
I combine my country interests with photography to get me away from work thoughts.
As much as I love 4x4's I am appalled at the damage done locally by irresponsible off-roaders maybe i can be a sensible voice as I know have a foot in both camps!!.
Hope the Disco will not be a major white elephant, I know I have paid a bit over the odds but it is in cracking condition (at the moment).
Cheers

:welcome2: to the loonyzone, mate! :)

We live up a long lane too, and the Disco does come in useful ;)

But so does my 90, our two cars, and the tractor! :D

Totally agree about the activities of the bad apples in the 4wd community. I have been driving off road for about thirty years, and green laning almost as long, and never caused serious ground damge or upset anybody, as far as I know.

Can you post up some pics of your motor, people may be able to give you ideas about its condition?

Hello welcome agree with you wish people would repect byways before we lose the right to use them

HI,

Thanks for the comments, the worst example i have seen is the Ridgeway from Barbury Castle along towards Avebury. I walk my dogs along there and it is no actually hard to walk it is so rutted.
Have also been walking along the Fosse from Brokenborough when half a dozen off roaders screamed past covering us in dust and crap.

Have attached a few pics of my new beast, will take some more next weekend. She is a 2003, not as per the reg.

I often used to Drive the Ridgeway in pre-Nerc days. It was a lovely drive, we just had standard landies with standard size tyres, and we used to pick dry times. No problems! :)

Sadly the brainless mud monkeys with unsuitable vehicles and no sense of when the ground was in condition to drive appeared shortly after, and got us all banned from great sections of it  To be fair, the Ridgeway, and a great number of other routes, has sustained a good deal of tractor damage as well. :(

Disco looks tidy enough! :)
