Hi guys,
Considering buying a landrover again so figured I'd tempt fate by reading stuff here again to 'catch up' on whats what!
Prices are bonkers for cars here with ten year old freelanders fetching £10k (well the diesel autos at least) and Defenders even more (aren't they everywhere!)
I loved the defenders I drove for years at work in East Africa but the other half won't hear of one here. Still a drafty defender and minus 25 might not be a good idea.
She also thinks a Discovery is "too big", so that really only leaves a road I've already been down, but the cost of spares here frighten me, and lets be honest with a freelander I'm likely to be on first name terms with the shop pretty quick.
I can probably afford up to a 2004 diesel freelander or 2001 disco (for my ten grand
). I do hanker after the freelander 2 but the price jump for these is still shocking here. Is it 'that' much better I ask myself?
Been running a 16 year old Saab 900S which has been great, huge boot for tools! But the tinworm is gradually making it a 'lightweight' although it just passed the test (every two years here!). I want to sell it with a full 'ticket' and get back into a proper car for the weather we get here.
