Been a Landy nut since I was a lad, haven't found a cure yet!
Got a well mod'd P38 2.5 DSE at the moment, I'm considering an M57 conversion for the end of summer.
Really enjoy lanning and I'm partial to a bit of pay n play, but most of all I like being able to (mostly) do all my own work and servicing etc... even if I have finally sucumbed to a Land Rover with a computer!

Thankfully no, other than a 'sunroof not set' fault !
Its had some sort of comms box added so I dont get the air suspension fault since it's coil converted. Although I'm not counting my chickens just yet... The battery went flat in the few weeks I've been changing the head and coolant system, it's on charge now so fingers crossed I dont have any imobiliser issues with it :/
There is a Ronbox fittted too, but I've dialed it into the 'off' settings for now. Just need it on the road asap to get back to work. Looking to put a BMW M57TU engine on a BMW 6spd manual box at the end of summer. I'm sure the wiring aspect of that might be challenging!

Electronics is Black Magic!
Don't think my 90 has any but you can never quite be sure!

Welcome to the forum :D

If it is a pre defender Ninety, it doesn't, even if it has been re-engined with a 200 Tdi.
There are a few relays, but no microchips! :)

And welcome to the OP. Best of luck with the P38. :)

It's a pre defender 90 with a 300Tdi
Relays are ok, they make a click when they operate, microchips on the other hand are wizardry!

Not certain about 300Tdi, they may have some simple electronics to do with engine management. Never had much to do with them, although they are supposed to be a good engine. My own interest is mainly in older stuff.

The 90 is my first foray into "modern" stuff (Even though it is 30 years old), I do sometimes think about selling it and going back to series stuff that I know so well!

I wouldn't. They are a good motor, I had good results from mine.
Not really more complicated and difficult to work on than a Series, but performance is more suited to modern road conditions.

That was pretty much my reason for buying it. I guess in a few years I will be used to it and all the jobs that you do on them!
