I'd add an endorsement for some 4x4 driving instruction.

The Disco shares its underpinnings with the Defender and the Range Rover Classic.

This is quite a good introduction to driving offroad with these platforms:

I always got by without front and rear locking diffs driving Army rovers. Unless you're doing something very challenging you shouldn't need any modification to the vehicle, albeit yours has had some things done that will make life a little easier on rough ground (the sump guard isn't a bad idea if you're not familiar with how much clearance you have, although don't let it lull you into a false sense of security - you're more likely to damage a diff housing than your sump in a Landy).

You've probably noticed the sticker inside the vehicle, but it's worth repeating: always lock the centre diff before you expect to lose traction. It doesn't take much wheel spin to start damaging splines on your gearbox, and it's an expensive rebuild if you do too much damage.
