Hi Guys, :)

My name's Mal and I've just signed up this evening.

Hope you don't mind me jumping straight in with a question.

I have owned my Freelander TD4 for 3 years. I bought it when it was 3 months old and have had no probs with it until recently.
My mate and I went fishing in Hampshire and after donning our waders, I shut the rear door and as I turned to walk away I hear a clunk, following which the rear tailgate window dropped inside the bodywork.

Fortunately I was fishing in private grounds as I had to leave the vehicle with the window down.

The dealership from where I purchased the vehicle undertook the repairs and because it was only 3 months out of warranty they met me half way with the bill. Apparently they had to replace a window regulator because the cable that drives the window had snapped.

I have since learned of at least 15 other freelanders that have experienced the same problem and therefore believe their is a fundamental design fault.

Have any of you guys experienced a similar problem or are you aware of anyone that has?

Regards,

Mal.

Hi All,
Been an infrequent 'stalker' of this forum for a little while. Finally decided to sign up!. We own 2 freelanders - I know, I know - you can stop laughing now. I use a commercial type one for my work. Its off-road 2 or 3 times a week and out performs any other 4x4 Ive owned, perfect car for what I do. Unfortunately, between the two cars, we have had almost all of the problems outlined on the forum. Nice car shame about the.............
