Hi folks
Been lurking for a few days and now joined, so hello !
I've spotted a series 3 (Advertised as such) for sale but it's 1970?
It certainly has a 3 front end and interior. How can this be, or is
there an overlap with 2a and 3 ? Surely series 3 started in 1971 ?
I used to have a 1983 diesel '3 and later a 300Tdi Discovery. Time to
get back to basics !

:welcome2: The 3 started in '72. It could of had a bulkhead swop or may have had it's identity changed for tax free status

Thanks for that. Talked to the vendor and it seems he may have been mistaken and it is likely to be originally a 2a. Someone did mention it to him. It's therefore a hybrid. I wonder if this should make much difference to his asking price (and the insurance premium). Someone looking for a 2a wouldn't touch it I guess. Advice please ! It's on autotrader, series 3, 1970 J reg.

Its not a hybrid. It will not affect insurance as long as chassis number matches V5. Insurance will be fine as long as the engine is LR specific..LR's are big meccano sets.
