Hi all , was out with series 3 diesel tick over dropped low , got home found diesel leak on injector pump , sorted leak then had chuffing noise from exhaust like a valve , took it around block power dropped just got home now won't start tries but won't pick up bled it loads new fuel filter cranks over tries to start but sounds like it only on 3 cylinders ? any ideas.Hello all my name is Buff new to forum , I have two series one's a 1955 petrol truck can and 1957 diesel truck cab !!

Yes all valves working clearance spot on air cleaner and pipes good , it does seem like injector compression good I have owned many Landy diesels in 30 years and although power wise there not very good this is the most gutless one o have ever drive so maybe pump is worn !!Might be worth getting the injectors checked. Have you checked the air side? Filter and hoses? Tappets all good?
If none of that, idle dropping is often a sign of a knackered injector pump.

Yes that was my thoughts , shame coz they are so expensive , thank you so much for your help anyway , regardsTired pump and unserviced injectors knock the stuffing out of old diesel performance!
Reduced idle, power loss, and leaks, would warn of a pump at the end of its lifespan, I fear!
