50 year old Land rover has been sitting in the garage for 2 years during lockdown.
It had a repair done and I drove it home 8 miles.
As I drove it was progressively getting harder to put it into gear.
I parked up.. now it does not go into gear when the engine is running.
What might be the problem?

Could be clutch or gearbox.

(now as that motor is not 50 years old we just need to know what gearbox is in it to help)

With some pics of engine and gearbox for the exsquirts to give a better diagnosis, but does sound like a clutch and operation issue at the moment.
Dont mention the age cos it isnt

Welcome.
You would be best posting in the relevant section for whatever your vehicle is. You might also want to ensure DVLA has the correct details , if you have recently changed the plate. Because that is not a 49yr old 88
