Defender 90, easy to work on? yes, but unless you buy a good one to start with it will be all work in vain and not to mention the costs that can spiral out of control much faster than you can earn money and the whole exercise just turns into another "unfinished project" on ebay.

Comfortable to drive? No not really

Suitable for everyday life? 50/50

I have to ask about your sanity levels too, 1) buying a vehicle that is not in that great a condition and been toyed with already and couple that with the fact that the Defender 90 is one of the most highly stolen motors on the road, the paranoia would keep me up at night to the point of sleeping in it!

As above - run away.
