Hi everybody,

Just found your cool website - as I have joined the crazy landrover lovers. I have just bought a Landrover Freelander XEDI model (2000) which seems to be still great for its age. It is a commercial one but I am hoping to convert it soon in a car type. The three door should look great with the small windows ones opened.

I do not know if anybody can help me with the following questions:

1) Does one have to pay some tax / VAT to the DVLA when converting a commercial van to a car or its just doing the conversion and informing the DVLA and insurance?

2) Anybody knows of somebody which sells the conversion kits (ie. seats, windows, etc.)?

3) Do you need to take the car to somebody knowledgable on conversions to do the conversion?

Thanks to all in advance,

Ivan

welcome to the mad hoose, you should keep it as a comercial as you would have to pay the vat, tell the insurance as to its change of class. if ti was a proper landrover (i.e. series/defender) it would be a simple job but as its a freelander it won't be

He can have it if he wants I'm after one what ses Pavee or traveller cos thats posh fer pikey and I'm a posh Pikey so it's Mr Pavee from now on.
