Hi everyone. I'm Jim. Ive just sold my Ford maverick and GSXR to buy an 18 year old Defender. My workmates think I'm mad but I'm over the moon. I can play in mud and water, go over hills and sand all with this stupid grin i seem to get when leaving the tarmac far away. Can anyone explain why this happens to me and my mates when we jump in our landys :D:D

lol :welcome2: jim, I'm usually grinning in my landy, its a slightly manic grin that says ' i love her but if she costs me anymore money this week i am going to burn her':D:rolleyes:

Life is complicated. Land rovers aren't. And when you throw mud and green lanes into the equation... you get a big ear-to-ear smile!
I get a huge thrill from pootling around in my series 1- it's not flash which is why it's so cool. Noone knows if i work on a farm, own an estate, i'm a Doctor or a forklift driver. All are possible - but also unimportant.
Landy's.. happy days!
