hi guyss!,
im new to this forum so be kind!, ive just turned 17 and for my first car im gonna be buying a defender around from the year '95. i just thoght id join this site for any ideas or queries i have

thanks all!

good choise mate you cant beat a defender for your first car.

and welcome to the mad house

I'd check up on the old insurance first, they can be a bit greedy with younger drivers even for the slow diesels. Hope you get sorted.

cheers guys!
ive been checking the insurance and can get a good deal with nfu because i have a farm, thanks for the response!

You mean you live on a farm... NFU are good but are you old enough? I had a feeling you needed to be 21.

Also try Adrian Flux 4x4 department, they are good with young drivers and modifications. Give them a ring.

i got my defender!!
its a 2001 td5 and i love it!
and as a bit of a bonus the insurance was only 400 quid!

crikey.. I presume that's the we don't pay claims policy...

excellent...

and a 2001 as a first car...

yoof of today, I don't know.. I had to put up with a 15 year old mark 1 fezza...

it was a bit of luck getting it tbh
we did hav to go all the way up to scotland to collect it but was well worth it

definitely, well done mate..

shows that the whole credit crunch/stupid car tax rules have made it a buyers market...

yay, welcome and glad to hear u got a defender, good choice!
i have always been with the nfu since i passed my test, their a well guarded secret aint they!

Picture 616.jpgrathar you than me paying the tax but well done 90,s are the way to go. just remember when your flash mate's go flying past and crash you can charge them to pull them out

Good choice of first vehicle. Any pics yet? and I'll give you a wave if I see you around.
