Would love a defender but expensive and out my price range so been looking at Disco's

So yeh here for advise and general chat really

yes. TBH unless you ride a push bike then all insurance will **** you over.:mad:

Thats true, im trying adrian flux now and they going to email me a price withing 24 hours.

annoying thing is i can get insured cheaper on my 2.0 turbo astra coupe for less than a landy :(

i want one as they so much fun after today at core 4x4

V8 is cheaper to insure........pikeys love diesel as you can run it on nearly anything......if your single young and not tied down go V8.;)

I am single, young and live with parents haha.

V8 can/is expensive to run tho..

I know it wont be my everyday car so when i use it i would be able to afford it but fuel prices are an absolute **** take!

if it is that much cheaper to insure than a diesel then i may consider it!

Im like ya self single at home..........V8 cheaper to insure for me.........and the v8 sound:D also easier to fix as 40year old design.

I get 14mpg combined(alot in traffic) and 22mpg on a run.

awww, scary! haha, did u go to core 4x4 today?

but as i will only use weekends i spose it would be affordable and would turn a blind eye to the fuel gauge haha!

how much is your insurance?

Im assuming your 18 then?

Ahh that sucks big time! who is your insurer?

I can get insured for about 600 on some landys but when i declear mods it goes up which is ****ty but some companies want me to ring them to discuss a price which is effort and expensive to ring, adrian flux ring you back which is cool. might get them to call me on tuesday evening when i am free.

Im 26.

when I told them about diff guards and protection fitted it added noting to my premium as the stuff was "factory fit" stuff anyway.

£760 is really not bad at all, especially considering you only have 1 years NCB. When I passed my test many years ago, I paid £1200 to insure a 1995 1.1 Ford Fiesta in a low crime area. (TPFT) That was the cheapest I could get it, even after much looking around. A year later, I insured a BMW 316i for much less than what I paid to insure a Fiesta.

Make sure that you tell Adrian Flux that you're a member of a club, as it will reduce your premium slightly. They did not define what constitutes as being a club and by normal definition, Landyzone is a form of a club, so they can't argue with that unless they change their policy wording.

Also, I really recommend sticking to 4x4 specialist insurers. In many cases, your premium will not increase when/if you choose to modify your vehicle. Some insurance companies even make this a requirement in order to be eligible for cover.

haha, surely thats a legal loophole in the insurance law then? if they dont specify what a club is or ask for a number then i guess i am part of a club.

Juicey, ah right still sucks tho, show insurance is ****ty and they pick and choose prices!

Yeh my first year driving a 1.25 fiesta was £1600 TPFT but if i still had it now it would be around £400 to £600 but instead i changed to a 2.0 turbo astra coupe which is £1k.

I want the insurance on the landy to be about £600 or less if possible

Have you tried the national farmers union / nfu direct or sureterm direct includes cover green laning and play days and its cheep

this 4.2v8 rr with every single mod declared and greenlaneing/offroad cover and agreed valuation of £6k cost me a tad under £300 for me and the mrs fully comp
