Hi chaps and chapesses,

I am the proud new owner of a 1999 S reg DHSE in Epsom with Lightstone, its done over 120k now but is pretty clean.

On the test drive nothing showed, but when I was driving it back I noticed that a book and exclaimation mark had come up on the HeVac. Aaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

It all seems to work fine, as it did on the test, the only thing I can think of is that it is showing that the heated seats do not heat, the lights come on but no action. It does not create the book and exlaimation mark when pressed but could it be? If not, what should I be looking out for.

Without pluggin it into a Testbook, is there any other way I can test it?

Hvac is the fussiest system to deal with on LP RR's,Testbook ( or similar ) is pretty much the only way to find out what has upset it.The most common faults are loss of gas from the A/C - which is on unless you press the A/C off button.Leaking condensors or compressor seals generally.Failed blend motors or sticking distribution flaps are another.Heater core temp and evaporator temp sensors can give false or open circuit fault codes.
The only saving grace is that the fault codes are usually quite accurate, ( unlike air suspension ) clear whatever is recorded and see what comes back.Then having the ability to force outputs with Testbook,and watch live data displays usually make it easy enough to find the problem.Fixing it is another matter - blend motors are no problem,sticking distribution flaps are becoming more and more common and can be a pain to fix.( Can mean removal of the dash to do horrible things to the heater box )

I am going to book it in to have it given the once over in a couple of weeks so will get it all checked out then.

Any ideas on the heated seats?!

i had the same problem. first turn off the a/c with the engine running wait 5 mins if it clears its the a/c sysytem needs checking and maybe regas and leak tested i'm a a/c enginner so it was very simple to test this where are you based as im just about to start doing mobile a/c system test and regasing on cars and four wheel drives

Most likely broken heater element on seat cushion, or connector loose under seat. You can check elements by multimeter, if found "open loop", your element (or termostat) is broken.
Connector(s) easily reachable under seat.

Is there some airbags in seats? Just check right connectors.

i'm based in north oxforshire just off the m 40 junction 11 if you need it tested im around tomorrow and have the full workshop manual
