Hello Guys,

Have read through a couple of threads re: hevac display mine often loses some of the numbers in the display and comes back on at will annoying issue is it easy to sort ? or best to replace. Heated seats both not working i hate cold leather on me ass is it advisable to jumper the wire under seat to back heat only ? before i get to repair.

I would advise agaisnt jumping any wiring with regards to heated seats, they are thermostatically controlled and any shorts or hot spots can cause a fire...

You can however repair the breaks in the heater elements. They're normally found under the creases in the squab and, as long as you are reasonable with a soldering iron and heatshrink, you can add a loop of wire to bridge the break.

Saints right, jumpering with a paperclip gets the back working on its own but with the same voltage across half the resistance - twice as many amps and four times as much heat - and the thermostatic switch is in the base. Your back would get warm to the point of ignition! Best fix the problem as per the guide on the site that recommends the paperclip - put the 45 degree switch in while you're at it, they're only pennies off Ebay.

Thanks very much for the replies guys will get round to doing the seats in a professional manner and to be honest was just being lazy. Will get and have a look at the hevac display first as it's driving me nuts

I did my seats a couple of weeks ago, the first one was a bit daunting not having done it before, but the second was a piece of p!$$. Upgraded the thermo switches at the same time (£4 ish) and have to say...WELL worth it. Took the time to check the BCEM plugs were not corroded while i had the drivers seat out and checked the connection were all tight on the fuse block.
