....and off again.

Hi all,

does the book symbol in the HEVAC display self-reset if it thinks a problem has disappeared?

Mine has had the book shown since I bought it in October. Recently though I've noticed that it goes off but comes back on. No rhyme nor reason why; I've not done anything to attempt to rectify it.

yeah seems to be the norm mine was on and off again for no reason at the moment its on all the time but give it a few weeks i bet it goes off

The HEVAC goes through a self-diagnostics every N number of power ons, not sure what figure N is....50 seems to be something that sticks in my head for an unknown reason!!

Goes through a self check every time ignition is switched on. Calibrates blend motors at pre set intervals to allow for settlement of flaps on seals.

Ahhh...thats kinda what I meant, only worded it a bit badly!!

the book symbol was on on mine when i bought it, found it had no gas but still wouldnt work when regassed, The book symbol would not appear if I immediately pushed the air con off button when starting the car.
Traced the problem to a worn compressor clutch, the air gap between the two plates was just too far for the magnets in the clutch to close though on testing a direct feed from battery would. Sorted it and no more book symbol
If your compressor clutch is starting to wear it might be working intermittently?

Hi Nige - I've had this intermittently recently, nanocom reported distribution flaps were sticking, and sometimes something about aircon compressor or clutch (there's no gas in it). I had to replace the leaky O rings and while there freed off the distribution flap and blend motor. Rarely get the book now.

I'm around most of the weekend if you want to text me to come and plug the nanocom in to pinpoint the fault.
