yes mate, got a couple of great videos but they are a little big to post on here at the moment. Trying to get rose to sort out the vegas software she has lying around somewhere... that will let me convert the videos into mpegs... much smaller!

Have you considered keeping the steering wheel and changing the rest?

Have you considered keeping the steering wheel and changing the rest?

i have several times today when i was swearing and swinging the hammer about earlyer, then i thought i'v done so much already i mightaswel do the rest and keep it for a few more years, anyway i cant afford to buy another but i can manage with the odd £100 here and there, at least i no it will a solid motor when im offroad, am gona try and get alot more in why i havnt got insurance to pay, am thinkin of goin to whaddon after i get a new mot (if i get one lol :) ), i might even av a look at few lanes why im at butlins, theres 12 of us on a family holiday and will have to get away for a break.

nowhere near, not including boot floor about 80% of looks like new not even any surface rust, looks like the crossmembers need replaceing aswell, i only got till next thursday to do it all and not got a free day till monday, am gona av to work fast :)

Don't work fast. Work slowly and get it right. At the risk of sounding like me dad... if you rush so much work you'll cock it up and have to do half of it again... AND it looks like a load of the work is kind of safety critical what with it being structural n all. Better a few days without a motor than doing the job twice or more!

By the way Pikey... just took a look at your mig welding site. Just what I needed being a bit of a mig virgin meself n thinking of learning all there is to know about welding in a week or so!

Jamie,
Have you checked the sills? cos 90 percent of the time they rot out as much as the boot floor and rear arches/seatbelt mounts. You can buy most panels but the welding has to be 100% to pass the MOT, expecially the seat belt mounts and around the body mounts.

Paddocks do the repair parts but nothing fits as per LR specs. Lots of jigging, lots of lifting up and making tools to hold the body so it does not flex. Its not a job I would wanna be doing done it once on my dads M reg disco took about 2 or 3 weeks of after work. Its solid now better than new. Don't under estimate the ammount of jig making and body supporting you have to do to keep it anywhere near straight. That was just the boot floor not the inner wings or sills they were ok. Jai

I have been watching loads of you tube vids, Loads of Pajs driven by idiot drivers if I am honest. They are always getting into trouble then using wire rope or strops for recovery.

We know your not one of em! RangieV8 your of sound mind! But some of these people in the vids honestly you wonder how they go about their normal day to day lives.

Edit: (probably collecting scrap, mugging old ladies and ringing a big bell outter their shagged transit van) Jai
