even you said u were supprised i didnt get stuck, and sod the bomb hole, no way in high hell on my A/T's!!

Never say never. you would not believe the things we achieved on standard road tyres. The only thing that ever let me down in the shogun was ground clearance, if you don't try the stuff you think your vehicle might fail, you'll never\really know what it might do!

We spent a weekend at whaddon and made climbs and bombholes that we though we would never complete. Lets face it... the guys you were with had the equipment to get you out of just about any mire you find yourself in... so really push yourself and the vehicle to the limit. When you go too far... there's a safety net and you will then know what you can (and can't) attempt.

Also... and I do not know whether this applies to you too, if not then I apologise:

Before I really saw the winches working in the hands of someone who knew what they were doing I had doubts about whether they were the dogs bollox that everyone described them as. Once I had been rescued a couple of times my respect for them increased a hundredfold. Its one thing someone telling you that their winch will pull a 9tonne load... but until you've hadit happen on your vehicle there is always a little shred of doubt.

AND! You have a number of new phone numbers (I hope). In an emergency I am sure that many of us would come to your rescue. I have been bailed out of serious crap a number of times and where there's a will there's a way ( or a dead person!)

OK, I Just wrote a huge and long message here but the system buggered up and lost it growl......( Rose Here) I am glad that we had the final lane challenge, a whole day without a challenge would have been a first. The second weekend with our new Disco....didn't get stuck......whats happening.....isn't that our role to give you Landy's a task to complete? Thanks to Kev for his tyres....we did take it easy on the deep ruts so not to do more damage......if we knew about the clearance issues beforehand we would have stayed with our all terrains. But bloody hell did they perform.....well yes! Just zipping todays avi's and photos. Some really good ones especially of the Suzuki.......that is now what I am going to buy Saffron once she is of driving age....I did like the Vitara but she can have so much more fun in one of those.

Had a really good days driving and can't wait to see the pictures. A great crowd of people and i'm looking forward to the next outing. I know i'm not as easily available living in Surrey, but if any of the group get stuck in a really bad way and are not able to get any local help i'll still come out and see what i can do to help, no worries.

I Want to do this Salisbury Plain trip, but i think it clashes with a week away with friends in Cornwall, Will check the dates and see if there's a way of fitting it in, should know today.

Thanks to everyone for a great day out yesterday. Well done Spiderman and Kev for navigating, great job.

Although, like Kris, I live some distance I would alway try a get to someone stuck. I do have a winch but have never put it under any significant test!

Looking forward to seeing photo's.

Hi Everyone.
I've just joined your forum...

I live in Welwyn Garden City, and would love to go do some green laning.
Just got my 4x4, so I am so excited :)

Been spending hours on the net to find out about green lanes, but cant seem to find any clear indication of where they are. Just sent my application off to join glass...so that might help

If anyone is going to for some laning...please give me a shout...I would love to come along

Thanks
Gooseman

Hi Gooseman,

We're out most weekends, and I know that Glenn goes out during the week in the evenings. It's the Billing show next weekend so we may not be out then but we'll certainly be laning the following weekend.

You would be most welcome to join with us on our little forays.

If you want to go out and explore a few during the week, let me know I'll probably be able to come along and who knows... maybe one or two of the other will as well.

Keep your eye on this forum!

Cheers

Ryder

Rose fell asleep while the files were uploading last night. They will be a big download since each picture will be in excess of 2Mb. however they are are being uploaded now and smaller images will be posted afterward.

What a day!
Fantastic lanes, gorgeous scenery, excellent company, Outstanding leader and great weather. This is what its all about and long may it continue. By far the best 1 we've done yet. No jacking out of ditches which was a bonus!!!
What a really nice group we have formed now aswell.
Will definately be up for 40 foot lane when my disco is all sorted but i think it will be a group effort. Hope you are all fine and dandy today and can't wait to get out again. Many thanks to Dan for the radio's which were an imense help. And well done to Glenn for rising to my challenge on the crossing and big thumbs up to Kriss for showing us just how good that little Zuki really is.

99claydond,

Great shot that, looks like the indians scoping to take out the cavalry!!

Don't think I will make Billing, likely to be under the bonnet fixing the Range Rover. If I'm lucky, I might get most of it done in the week. Ryder, will let you know when I'm done so I can have my wheels back.

Glad everybody enjoyed their day out. I will put my hand up to one navigational error, the other was er....ask Spyderman, who did a great job as my chauffer (thanks again).

I was thinking perhaps we could look at doing some more over toward Cambridge or perhaps across to Bishop's Stortford. Any thoughts?
