Cheers,
Glenn

Hello Glenn, it has indeed been a very long time! I've had my share of challenges in the last couple of years but I'm OK. Trust you and yours are all good.

Hi Kev,

Well its good to hear your ok mate, are you still based in North Wales?

All good this end though, working away and collecting land rovers, you know how it goes haha.

Will have to have a proper catch up at some point if you fancy a pint outside somewhere, see who else is about.

Today is that sad day I said goodbye to my beloved Range Rover Classic. It has been sold; who knows what its new owner will do with it. I hope it will once again find glory in the mud!

I miss it already after just a couple of hours but I know it was right to let it go. This thread is monumental and it will always be a reminder of the things I did in my Range Rover and just as importantly, the people who were there to share in the trials and tribulations of being axle deep in mud, bonnet deep in water, broken down and being fixed.

It's been quite a ride! but most of all, I have the memories of great days out and the people that made them special. I wish all who were there when this thread started, good luck, health and happiness.

Hi Kev,

Great to meet you last week, couldn't be happier with the RRC, despite a slow 7 hour drive home it was faultless!
Looking forward to getting out in the next week or so and seeing what can be done!
Lots more memories to be made, that's for sure!

Feel free to keep in-touch.

Thanks again,
Lewis

Glenn, nice to hear from you. You're on! Perhaps we should see if we can get a re-union organised. You in touch with any of the others? I spoke to Jai a little while ago but he was rushing about so couldn't swing by.

Lewis, glad to see you on the forum. Happy you made it safe and sound. I know the old Rangie might not look pretty but it has got it where it counts. Look after it, and it will look after you. The key is keeping up with maintenance and repair. I hope you'll enjoy it and use it properly.

Hi Mate,

No I haven't kept in touch with anyone to be fair, that said i do still speak to Dan who put this thread together so could probably persuade him for a meet up.

Jai
Ryder
Neil

Can't even remember who else we had to be fair (nothing personal anyone who's watching on :)

I would be up for it either way.

Hello everyone!

been about 11-12 years since I last visited these pages! Some of you may remember the reason behind myself and BenjyP having to buy a couple of rounds at the Dunstable pub meet…

well, reason for coming back after all these years, I’ve essentially “got custody” of a ‘97 110 Hi Cap pickup!
Long story short, it was used to drag boats in and out of a lake for our parent company, but we have since repurposed it for towing event trailers around the county!
Been giving her some love over the last few weeks, and she’s a different beast now! Still some bits to do, and i need to pick people’s brains about auto electrics… but it’s certainly nice to spend someone else’s money on fixing up a defender! I’ll post a picture when I can work out how!!

Popped back hope all are well!!

Certainly been a fair few years! Off here.

Mostly use Faceache these days but we should most defiantly do a catch up.

White lion is still going. Did a nice steak last week.

Will be a busy 2024 as the landy club I’ve been involved in a bit are busy the ALRC Nationals at Whaddon MK next year last May bank holiday.

Had some time off trials/comp safari of late had some chill time with rc planes and other hobbies. Building a series 3, buying a p38…..

Lifes good just need to get back out more often.

Was out at a fun day Yesterday in Tottenhoe in the racer giving it a bit of a blat after some upgraded front shocks. Work that was much needed after last years national where we bounced off few too many trees, snapped the chassis at the front, tore the front shock mounts to pieces, blew up the front shocks and wrapped the bumper flat against the chassis….. we did Finnish tho..

Wishing everyone well.

Deffo up for a get together maybe a pub meet and organise a local trip somewhere.

Your recovery is still talked about! Just a few weeks ago I mentioned it to a mate. Pics look silly but standing was almost impossible!!

Great Times!!!

Blimey, talk about thread revival, there is almost a pulse!
Nice to hear you are still doing stuff Jai. TDCIST, I remember THAT recovery - t'was certainly some sort of mission.
The thought of some sort of get together sounds great. Given enough notice I think I could probably arrange to venture in to the foreign territory that used to be home waaaayyyyy down South. Pretty sure my D3 would be happy enough to have a jaunt down there.
Anyway, good to hear folks are doing well.
Cheers

Kev we should sort a meet up soon!
Sounds a fantastic idea!! Glad your enjoying your D3 sheen a few of late and they’re good motors. Still can’t bring myself to get one. However I have picked up a p38 v8 that I’m yet to play with but it’s here and ready to use.

For anyone interested:

We are sorting out the national for next years ALRC national comp being held at Whaddon.

Desperately needing a laning trip! Maybe Xmas morning again over Whitwell/Hitchin for a giggle with my lad.

She put on a very good display running up and down the bridge screaming 'why would you drive through here, they are endangered species in there' Even said she heard us breaking twigs on her trees.

I am pretty thorough when i check our routes out so was quite surprised but have checked again now and couldnt find anything.
Just to say she’s still like this — claiming it’s closed, threatening to call the police etc.
