Like I say I could not recommend and do not because I'd my experience at both sites. Who in their right mind would leave their landy behind??

Both have bad points but my experience is whaddon has been better. Pikeys at both in dodgy motors I guess it's part of the deal but less hassle at whaddon than devils pit.

Every time bar none Devils pit had either a silly numpty Marshall or wannabe Marshall destroying someone's pride and joy or dodgy geezers trying to sell me old ****e and tell me his motor never gets stuck.

The site great!! When run by AWDC or whoever great but play days I'm not going devils anymore. Whaddon is ok

Well that's a typical response from someone that rents devils pit and wants to keep on Simons good side aye!! We just tell it like it is.

Lanes are not for muddying,

If you want come to a comp we'll have some fun and maybe get some shiny stuff to prove it!

As a site it's not bad, comped there when they used to do comps not any more alas!

I don't know who simon is, so no idea there.

I'd be interested in driving a comp but I doubt I would actually do that well. Sounds like fun though, I guess I'm just not in the right circles.

I know lanes are not for mudding or whatever your definition of that is but for me it's simple really; I'm a sociable sort of guy, I've done all sorts of motor sports etc and I enjoy all things in cars really. I like off road driving but I want to both feel like it's challenging or interesting as well as sociable.

Other than some superb laning trips with a neighbour of mine in the Peak District and locally, I'm fairly bored. The lanes round here are essentially dirt tracks with little variance and whaddon got both very repetitive and sadly quite anti social.

Again, it's probably just because I'm not in the right circles but I just want to get out in my land rover whilst I have it, enjoy myself and meet some like minded folks.

Fair point, I am going to enjoy bike night at old town Kissimmee Orlando. Have a good night :)

Bringing up devils pit was a mistake I guess but my question, when are you guys next out?

It would be great to get out on a laning trip and meet some of you all before I sell up.

I don't really like laning for the same reason as you but if there is a few people then it can be fun

My thoughts exactly. I go occasionally locally with my neighbour who knows every lane from here to timbucktoo but I loved it the one time about 10 of us went out in the Peak District.

I bought a brand new cb radio and excitedly fitted it about a week after buying my landy. Nearly 8 months on and I'm yet to use it once :p

No mistake about Devils pit no problem with it just I myself cannot advise people to go there for reasons stated.

Right there is no circles really. Laning wise its fairly quiet for a few reasons around here like you say is a bit boring locally. If you have driven anything rough then laning does tend to get boring.Although I think you accept it as a jolly out well I do in the country after a while. Opposed to a comp where its all go go go. Like you say furthur afield trips and camping have been our best ones although (Spydie needs his luxury hotel)! I'm currently out of it still on the offroader need to get that 100% before I get back in the greenlaning seat fully. I will do the usual xmas day local laning I'm sure have done for the past 4 years. We're all about social **** taking well ripping the **** and having a laugh. Of late tho for various reasons laning has been slack.

Especially from me as I need to get off my ass and get an MOT sorted! No reason not to pass either just time the motor has all been sorted.

Comps depends what you like. Punch/driverounds not really a comp but you can show up some expensive motors on the occasion and if we manage to lay out then some swearing by those who take it more serious. Again not had the time this year. Trialling. bit more competitive and serious and not everyones cup of tea. Not alot of driving but alot od skillful driving. very sociable tho alot of mickey taking. strict regs with regard vehicle spec.

Really tempting to try my rear panel on the offroader right now see what it looks like paneled up. Trying to resist going and trying it.

They have some nice bikes here but they like to lower and extend them.

Don't think they worry about tread depth either lol

Have fun spidy, don't break your front axle. :p

Hopefully I will be back on the Rangy soon, just spent a few hundred on parts that were on the need list, and from on the wish list :D. Poking about at work and found a nice shed that that would make a great workshop so in talks with the bosses if I can have it (I asked if I can have it and pay rent, they have yet to decide how much) so hopefully will have it finished and on the road in March April next year, maybe 2015  no deadline now so want to finish it properly and not cut corners. Then hopefully can buy the 88" I have always wanted.
