Sorry to jump in guys. But im not sure if any of you had seen this:

http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f13/end-laning-peaks-200075.html

I know its not your area but it is a very beautiful area that they are proposing to close. Any help on saving our lanes that we could get would be appreciated.

Thought id give it a mention on one of the busiest threads in greenlaning.

Thanks

Hi there,

Despite the complaints of various people who claim to love the countryside, I would dearly like to point out that those of us that enjoy the lanes in the peak district while using our vehicles would be opposed to the idea of banning us.

We have been in touch with protest groups and have offered to help in many cases where repairs have been necessary. We are not, as described, irresponsible, rather we are a group of people who enjoy access to the countryside using our vehicles, Indeed, it is worth noting that in some cases, we would be unable to access the countryside without our vehicles due to disability.

Please do not remove the access to the countryside that we currently enjoy... instead remember that only one in a hundred lanes are available to the disabled, and to vehicles.

Thank you

Chris T

Drove Harlington lane this afternoon, haven't driven it all summer so i thought I must before it closes for winter tomorrow. The repairs have held up pretty well only a few deep ruts that possibly might just stop a Gaylander. The fact that this year has been so dry has helped. Lovely lane though, one of my favourites.
