and baloon punch in low range doesn't work!! Haha!

List of stuff to do::
Fit rear bump stop spacers,
Fully fit and test winch,
Fit front locker,
Prep spare front diff,
Get spare front shafts to take,
sort out recovery gear,

since last time tho we've got better rear droop as in New shocks, rear locker is in and working! Truckcab and no roofrack so we can give it a bit more stick.

Spyderman:

I'm not too worried, stock 10 spline rear shafts a detroit locker plus our tyres only one outcome! Unless its driven really carefully.

My prediction for next weekend If we give it a good go: Spyderman broken rear shaft and or front propshaft, Jai_landrover broken front shaft and or diff carrier or crownwheel/pinion. But guranteed to be lotsa fun!

under no illusions that if we actually go there to try harder we will find out the weak bits on the motors double quick. Unfortunatly my front locker is again only 10 spline so expecting trouble TBH!

Spitfire said yours is going to be an absolute dog to drive with that diff.

Bring on the excuses again.:D

I don't intend breaking anything, quality driving will prevail. Fingers crossed.:D

I think I had a bad earth to the engine. Jump lead to the chassis has it sorted for now. Where should I find the connection tomorrow? Have fun on Sunday :D

Jack should be an earth from your battery to your chassis Rail. Then another earth cable from your chassis rail to your engine block. Also one to your chassis rail to your gearbox or bellhousing bolt. Remember that whatever cranking amps you need i.e when cold cranking the wire has to be up to it. so no point getting a Halfrauds car earth cable you need more like a tractor cable winch wire size rating would be good enough and all joints connections should be to clean surfaces and any crimps be done again to withstand the current needed.

Thanks Jai, looks like it was just from engine to chassis as it looks to have been using the throttle cable as part of the circuit. Do you think the new battery has caused it to blow somehow? Tayna sent me a bigger one since they didnt have the numax in stock. more than 900cca

Nope just poor earth lucky really they have been known to use the handbrake cable aswell as the throttle cable and a fair few Discos used to actually catch fire. A friend in bodywork was always getting in firedamaged Discos because of this. make sure those earths are in good nick.

:eek:I will check for any signs of damage to that too then tomorrow. Cheers Jai

My brakes are getting really bad - I can very nearly get the pedal to the floor now - so I wont be coming tomorrow
