You're welcome mate.

We're going out tomorrow around Santa Pod, you're welcome to join us as long as you have front and rear recovery points (it is a Gaylander after all:eek: )

We've got all of the other kit for recovery, so no need to worry about that.

Let us know if you want to join us and I'll give you details.

I've still not done Santa Pod, Would love to come along. Been ages, But still no running vehicle and I'm still on crutches.....

Have fun though and take some Pics of the Hippo wallowing about in the mud :D

Well the oil seal and handbreak are done, thanks for all the advice.

Gutted that I won't be able to join you all tomorrow, especially as it's because we're going to see the mother in law!!!

With the Gaylander going I guess Spyder will get a chance to use his new winch.

If anyones about on Sunday I've got a pass to do some laning then.

Hey,

Thanks for the invite, bit short notice though, so I will have to pass. Just out of curiosity, what recovery points? I am complete noobie at all this :)

Anyone no any runs in bucks? I can find 1 mile just outside Princes Risborough on the ridgeway website... :D

Anywhere that you can be towed from if you get stuck!!

Recovery points are attached to the chassis and allow you to be towed, they're not the same as tie down loops that allow the car to be strapped down on a car transporter, if you use them to attach a rope to if you're stuck you'll probably pull them off because they're designed for loads downwards not horizontally.
A rear tow bar is OK for the back, but you'll need something substantial on the front also.
Best have a look or post in the Freelander section for advise as I haven't a clue.

We won't take you out unless you've got them as it's not safe for us to recover you without them.

Shifty,

Forget what I've just said, I've done a search and apparently Freelander's come equiped with recovery and tie down eyes front and back as standard. Obviously expecting them to get stuck I suppose.

Just rock up whenever you want to join us.

Hello boys and girls...

Hope all is well, im settled back home and in full swing into new job at Alton Towers... been super busy but kept an eye on here, not been out for a while - did do a cracking run in Wales the other week.

Enjoy Santa Pod - any news on that lane we walked Spydie??
