I'm off too.

Sible... call you in the morning all being well

Otherwise have fun to the day shift!

Well I will have a set of extreme MUDS on 2moz so I will try and reverse down if I have a few spotters? I will take the IFOR off so 2 can sit in the tub and watch both sides. There will be no seat belts or safety so it will be at own risk!! I will be going very slow but anything can happen?? So if you don't fancy it, don't put your name forward!!!

I have got a powerful light that plugs into my cigarete lighter and also has battery pack so can use by hand not sure of batt life so will bring charger.

Pls do not fall in the river or get stuck pointless reversing down unless the disco is:

A, back on track,
B, happy to reverse slightly slower than the towing vehicle, and know when to stop if tow vehicle is halted,
C confident about having enough grip,
D is attached to a short (I and I mean short probably less than 60Cm) rope attached to keep the disco from falling into the drink when reversing backwards. This can go wrong and may well end up pulling the tow vehicle into the water if not done right.

Just be careful

Pictures sent. Ryder will send to you too in a sec. Kris if you want them pm me your email address.

I did not send most of the time lapse shots or else it would have taken forever. When we can get Ryder's slideshow to work, I can upload them to that.

I would not get people to sit in the tub if i were you....... if you slip and you dont have strops attached, you could easily drown if you were knocked unconscious and fell in the fast flowing water. If you have strops attached then the landy will slide until they catch it and the jolt may do the same thing. Also if your landy follows them down to the stream they may be crushed. If something like this happened the lane would be closed for sure (and several others probably too)

From the pics seems the disco is now where there are no trees in the first pic bottom of the page. Ryder do you have any Ali plate about 3mm 1 foot square or even steel of a similar size? I have somthing I can use If not but not ideal.

Gotta go to bed now. Will take a change of clothes to work so I can zip down the M11 from Cambridge after work if needed (i finish at 2pm and should be able to stay till whenever). I may come just to get some experience and see more recovery in action. See you all whenever, and good luck!

Im off to bed too... thanks again guys - anyone interested in coming in the morning PM me. I'll pick it up first thing.

Bob are you still ok to collect me??

I believe i have cover for work so can stay as long as necessary.

Thanks again guys!

Sounds like you guys had an interesting day. Have any of you got some 2" angle iron? If so you can cut it into 18" lengths and sharpen/cut one end into a point and drill a hole at the other end. These can then be roped and shackled to gether and set out in a V to form a ground anchor/winch point.

If you are wanting to join strops together without using shackles you can loop them through each other. you need to put the loop of one end of a strap over the loop of another strap and then put the other end of the first strap though the same loop of the second strap. This will prevent them knoting together and mean the straps are always easy to seperate.

If it doesn't come out tomorrow I have friday off if you need some extra support. It is a bit of a trek for me though so fingers crossed you guys can sort it.
