Hi Screwy,
Hows life? Hows it down your way.

Great lanes, great vehicles and some great company!
Cheers for today lads, was good to put some faces to names.....my son wants me to get rid of the Disco and buy a 90 with a massive lift- if only they know the value of money!
Never had my Disco scrubbing so much, probably dont help that my rear shockers are pretty much dead! Might have to look at 3" lift instead.
Anyone got a windscreen washer motor - MOT tomorrow and it looks like I burnt mine out at whaddon last week!

Not that I am any expert of course, but I have been told that a lift of three inches can seriously affect the motor's handling!

Sorry mate can't help.
3 inch lift some say its a no no others say its on the limit. Depending on what you lift it can be done. Go in with your eyes open it will cost you the best part of £800 plus tyres to do it properly if people say it wont drive their motors look underneath and see what they have missed out. Also 3 inch lift doesn't mean you can fit much bigger tyres to the discovery without surgery to the body work anyway so I wouldn't bother mabe go 2 inch lift and fit 235 85 R16 tyres
shocks £100-£200,
bump stops £25,
Fr cranked arms £200,
Re cranked arms £90,
Springs £100-£300,
Wide angle propshafts £350
+ tyres.
Looking at some serious dosh. It can be done cheaper but will not be great. Better to go and buy a set of Insa Turbo tyres 235 85 R16 and do a nice job on the body work to accomodate them mabe some 2 inch spacer blocks and rear shocks (make sure your Propshaft UJ's do not bind up when axle is fully drooped) lots of checking and things to do propperly.
