hey Spyderman u had chance to look at your series 1 yet?

Only got back from Zermatt last night. -24 at the top most days with -14 at mid station, to say it feels tropical here is an understatement.
Bastards lost my bag on the way back, but I've had a call to say they'd found it in gatwick, not bad considering I flew into Stansted.

I've only had the cover off the Series 1 once since I got it. Must get it going soon, I'm sure it wouldn't take long to sort it.

In that case i havent got one they use a different pully and are handed different. I have seen it done before my dad turned one around and changed the pully over but is more effort than it was worth. Jai

thanks for the offer anyway, but yes its a 300 so will get one tomorrow:blabla::blabla:

I really ort to make a start on the front springs/shocks but really cant be bothered!!!

when were you thinking for southend hope you have a dry suit

No dry suit, only a wet one. But When it's about 25 degrees warmer!!

She needs a bit of TLC, sumit not quite right with cooling system, she keeps blowing exhaust hoses haven't had the time to investigate...yet :(

Where do you normally go?

Rob

Can't go wrong with that one!! :)
Went to Mersea a few times last year camping, all fun and games - nearly got the disco stuck on the shingle there too!!
OK yeah that Would be good if you dont mind....tbh dont understand much about the cooling system on them done a bit of research but I hate working on the damn thing coz the engine compartment is so small and everything is so bloody inaccessible so keeps getting put off!

Its a 3.5:1 ratio so early Defender or RR and is 10 spline open diff although its immaculate looks to have been recently refurbed or almost new. Feels tight best diff I've ever had TBH. I would keep for myself but I'm going over to series Ratios. It was in new fresh oil in the diff pan as in the picture. As its so good its more money than an average worn out crusty RR/Disco/Defender diff.

Thanks, Jai, not for me, my mates diff decided to pack it in today so passed on your info, ta again Keith

I do have another diff but its still in my back axle in my lock up from when I changed over to my salisbury axle that one will be up for sale about £60 Same as above 3.5 Ratio and 10 spline open but will have done more miles than the one I took out earlier still nothing wrong with it. Jai

hey Jai... how d'it go today? Successful?

Kai removed my bullbars today... rotten as a pear and if I hadn't got them off today they might have ended up underthe wheels!

Actually he had a little help from Mr Grinder an meself! Anyway... having ground out the retaining bolts Kai had another look and proudly announced that dad had ****ed up and the bolts I had cut were also holding the bumper in place!

Don't you just hate it when the little ****'s righ!

(Actually really glad e noticed 'cos I would not have done)

Hello Mr. B&Q Now the bumper's held on and the motor seems to be driving in all configurations just as it should... if with a little noise!

If anyone has a driver's seat for a disco... might well be interested... seeing as how the lad broke mine last time out at whaddon and he is giving me a hard time about going next week!

Yesterday er Well Screwy's R380 is well and truly er... screwed sorry for the pun. Needs a new/recon gearbox.

On a lighter note, My transfer box turned out to be bloody great (viscious coupling not seized) and worth a few bob which is great depending on if I sell it for whats its worth or not. I may well keep it for my 90 eliminating difflock making the rear locker and centre diff all self locking as and when it needs may well start saving for a front locker but I have a huge list to get done before summer on the 90 so the locker may have to wail awhile. Borg warner Transfer box isn't as low a ratio on high 1:00 opposed to my 1.22 but the ****er is low range is slightly higher but with 4.7 diffs that will not make too much difference TBH still to do the maths.

One of my axles I managed to get hold of had three rounded off axle end bi hex bolts which is always a ****er. 14mm was just too big due to them being mullered (I was contemplating welding on a ratchet spanner/ bit of box section/ and using a bar but its all too close to the swivel but I managed to shift them with a really good tight spanner which I will keep for such problems again (Really glad I brought some spanners on a few weeks ago). The axle looks as if it has at some point not too long ago been completly refurbed the swivels are new and as far as I can tell so are the shafts and diff. Not much if any wear at all and the diff is like new feels tight and the oil was golden brown as new. So I baged up the diff ready to sell as a bloody goodun. Its definatly not the average snotty diff you get from an old high milage RR or disco. The axle ends are in the shed baged up ready to be masked up and cleaned and painted. Not sure weather to get my axle casing blasted and painted still unsure and yet to see the cost.
I found some inlet manifold bolts for the 80 inch aswell so all in all quite a productive day TBH.

How did Kai get on with his 109?

So your bull bars are gone now got the sleak look and saves you a few pounds a month in fuel.

Afternoon all.

Was a date set for wales at the last pub meet?
I've been a little disconnected from life out of work for the last month. Back in Madrid this week, snowing like mad here, had to chain up the van on the way over the mountains, I loves chains!
Has anyone got any plans for this weekend?

Hey Beaker

Wales weekend of 10th July

Jai, they made some headway on the chassis. Snow stopped play for a while and he has been working on the disco today and yesterday.

dont really like th sleek look, prefer the protection but the damn things were all but dragging on the floor so they had to go.

Kai is cutting the rotten bits out of them to see whether anything can be done but I think it will be a futile effort.
