ok will do i guess he cant handle the power of the v8 and and auto should be sweet and very controllable even on the ice having a viscious coupling but hey

I'm putting my snow tyres on first thing in the morning, nothing will stop me with them on. If he's still in trouble let me know.

yea, all terrains arent all that awesome

ok will do i guess he cant handle the power of the v8 and and auto should be sweet and very controllable even on the ice having a viscious coupling but hey

it has sweett FA to do with it being a V8 mate, it could have been anything. the combination of tyres and black ice on top of only a little snow is what did it. other areas had more snow so it was less of an issue, the whole road was no issue taking corners at 15 odd mph, there was no sliding. This one corner was significantly slippier than the rest, and i went ice skating. most things that go / have gone down there will go / have now gone into that ditch

but the fact there is a V8 in there has absolutely bugger all to do with anything to be honest with you

cheers for those that called / texted and were considering coming out, its all sorted. one thing leads to another, i had a friend with me whose brother chopped his finger off, so we were slowly heading that way to get him to hospital. rangey does not look pretty on that side. will want a new front nearside wing, new bonnet, new bonnet scoop thing at the least. and its hard to see but the roof may also be buggered on that side, and im only hoping the windscreen pillar isnt ****ed

Mate taking the pee Mate!

I know it was well bad in your area the other car that was in the ditch in front of you confirms that. Well your ok, the car runs and you got home and can be fixed so everything is ok. I think you got away lightly really a RR is heavy and when things go wrong they always seem to come of with a bit of damage.

Just out of interest what gear were you in??

Oh ok Cheers for that MHM. Thats it then takin the Landy to work. Its not too disimilar here about 3 or 4 inches of snow in the back garden and I have to get some sorted one otherwise i'd consider staying in myself. Doh

Lol well I cook normallly or she does ocasionally, if ordering take out is cooking sayin that I'm promised fresh bread when I get home tonight which sounds good to me! As for cuddling up in bed I wish I gotta get into work otherwise things aint gonna get done and my ass will be kicked!

Thats true.

I'm on probation for a better money and if things go smooth (everythig has been going crazy aginst me TBH) I get more dosh which is well needed cos the Mrs wants to go away for a propper posh holiday and I really can't afford a scum class holiday let alone a posh one At the mo or for the forseeable future.

will chuck some photos up later on, damage wise it looks like the windscreen pillar may also be pushed in, in which case it could be alot worse than just panels - it wasnt just a ditch like, it was a ditch with tree stumps and a hefty hedge. got called up earlier on by a mate who drove past, there are apparently about a dozen vehicles in the ditch there, including a new rangey - that could be costly

I was in drive but low range. you learn the hard way eh. I am used to driving manuals in these conditions - all my driving in the winters in germany were in manual vw's and the like and my cars before the 110 and the 110 are manual as well. so when you start sliding you can shift down a gear, i should have been in 3rd and then been able to move to second, hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Tiz a pity.....
Reading some of the posts on here, you would think Landys are invincible. When they get on ice, with no drive, they are worse than a car - 2 Tons of steel with no crumple zones, transmits a lot of energy into the occupants :(.

yu still need to drive with extreme caution.

if i have time i will take ganders at that ditch later see just how many are in there. it really is a mental bit of road though, small amount of snow but compacted by a few big vehicles that drove though which makes it hugely slippery, combined with an overhang of trees meaning the sun never gets there so under all that was ice. all of that together makes for an innocent looking road being exceptionally nasty. cars i was telling to slow down after i went in were close to sliding in the ditch doing about 5mph - its a flat road and yet some people needed a push because there is literally no grip. its hard enough standing up - utter madness!

there have been a few pretty serious injuries thus far and i have no doubt there will be more to come in the next few hours - i dont know about you guys but we have a foot or so of the white stuff and its still snowing. ambulance and police cant get out, fire engines are struggling, and people have been stranded since yesterday.

this is alot worse than before
