Hi Brett... its a 2.25 petrol. Looks really lovely when its gets clean... removed most of the mould on the windows and panels this evening. Any parts/manuals etc are, of course, very welcome. I don't really know where to start... kai of course wants to start with the starter... he's heard it running and wants to hear it more!

He's been really mature about it though... he refuses to take it to whaddon because he feels that it would make working on it less pleasant, and someone (Jai) has given him the idea that once done it would be great to take it on an expedition somewhere, maybe France, Spain or even morocco! Even a Weekend in wales with a couple of sleeping bags in the back!

The most serious concern will be the chassis though. It looks as though it is going to be beyond repair, unless someone has a miracle in mind, and the very long process of switching from one chassis to another may turn out to be a summer long project. All I can say with confidence is that at the end of this process both Kai and I are going to know a little more about Land Rovers than we do now. Maybe that's not a bad thing but it ****es me off that he was half way through changing my dampers and springs when it turned up and the disco is stilll up on a jack as we speak!

I'm hoping you can keep that record, ;)

Ah now... you would have to have a seven month pregnant wife and four other kids in the car, along with a serious packed lunch loaded "just in case" by a wife who knows what **** you usually end up in and still remembers the first time you got stuck (see ashwell comments), a mate with a kettle, a cooker and an almost complete on board kitchen (DB), a friend on the end of a telephone with a winch that doesn't know how long you have been there, (Jai), a Brett to keep running to the end of the lane just to **** you off with how easy these things are for a series, a friendly security guard who doesn't get ****ed off when you get too close to the super charged dragster you keep driving past, and a large bottle of vodka awaiting your return home.

Oh and a water heating system at home that heats as much water as you can use.

Spydie... really sorry you couldn't get here this evening, but when you get a spare half hour run up here and take a look. Kai would love to see you of course and given that we now have vehicles registered in the same year he will be interested in your comments.

Trying to get some history on the vehicle. Still searching the web but will fill you in when we get some details. Manged to really **** off the neighbours when it was delivered. Completely monopolised the street, jesus the looks said it all! Going to have to talk to the ones next door tomorrow just to make the peace methinks.

You DO realise MR SPYDERMAN that this is all your bloody fault!

If we hadn't come out with you one afternoon last winter... Kai would never have known what off roading/green laning was and I would have been a little richer! I hope you feel suitably guilty.

its supposedly in good condition. its in blackpool, and its subject to alot of photos of the bulkhead, cross member, chassis and so on. supposedly it has been hit with a hammer throughout the chassis forcefully and nothing has given at all and it looks good, and it has just passed an mot. totally original nick, other than the wheels and tyres which are aftermarket.
