Jesuuuuuuus JH!!! It'll almost be cheaper to buy another one and start over. That's some crazy amount of work to do.

JH just remember that every job you do is another one you can be sure is up to scratch. I am sure that some of the guys on here would be willing to pitch in with stuff you are wary of, and you're welcome to come up here to get some stuff completed... don't get me wrong I'm no expert but I have tools, a telephone, RAVE and have done some of the jobs you need to get through. Maybe two sets of hands would be better than one.

well i may as well chuck it out in the open

any of you guys interested in potentially doing a 3 continent 15k miles charity rally to morocco, down to the ivory coast area and then across to tanzania, before going either up into egypt and across or ferry across to saudi or jordan. then the final stretch back to london through italy, greece and the balkans.

big old trip, but its a round trip. charity is help for heroes. its very much in the early stages currently, but embassies are being contacted, starting route planning etc and working out finances

at present it is myself and a mate, in 2 vehicles. but im sure if the right person were to want to come along we would love to have you there.

essential dates and times- leaving end of august. arriving back christmas time

essential info - these arent safe area's. mines, car-jacking, terrorism, militia's, murder and rape are everyday occurances so needs to be extremely carefully planned with security in mind.

anyone adventurous?

Well I'm sceptical the time frame involved seems far too short. Preperation will take you at least a couple of months of serious prep to get your vehicle halfway to being up to the job and you will need to carry lots of parts. Dampers you will need some serious HD ones or 2 per corner and carry a few sets. I remember hearing of a F350 after a routine drive from Kabul to Bamiyan knocked out every corner after 4 hours and they had to continue another 4 hours to Bamiyan bouncing.

I'll have a go Friday night, don't get home till 18.00 though.
Just flown back from France tonight. There was 40cm of fresh snow falling as I left.

sounds nice, but most people in the real world have to work for a living!
