From a quick drawing I just did to get max offset ALRC Reg rims on a 6 inch Rostyle rim. I need minus 15mm to 18mm offset opposed to positive +33mm offset. So I need to get the naïve plate 15mm behind the centre line. Don't think that's doable with these rims might get -5mm.

The steering damper made a big difference to the steering. Very tight now. Hard to tell heavy wise as the 80 has no pas. Turning circle is better in the 80. It's a hard call unless you drive one after the other on the same section
I find driving a diesel is just a big sluggish not very responsive compared to a decent petrol also dropping of the revs a diesel gets to a point where it will never recover circa just above tickover whereas a petrol can drop down to really low revs and still not stall. I jumped out of my 90 after driving a section a few years back straight into an 86 inch trials comper and it was night and day
235 85 16 wider than I wanted however there was a good reason. They have tougher sidewall protection than the 750 version, 18mm tread depth and they are very very soft. I was hoping the softer ones were the 750's but seems not.
Just driven the 90 for the last hour and I can honestly say it drives how a 90 should. Open diffs and tight drive train has made a huge difference. Simply its a pleasure to drive. Its still an old Bus. But the mechanicals are now fully sorted. Next really is simply upgrading only. Maybe replace the rear stub axles for front stubs and front hubs and HD 24 spline shafts and a 4 pin all of which I have here ready pretty much so no cost just time. None of this will get done until something breaks or maybe just before the nationals 2015.
I still need 4 more tyres. Two more of the above 23585 R16 and 2 £££ 255 85 R16 BFG's ideally but as and when I sell other bits n bobs. Better start saving!! I have a pair of 7.50 kingpin Hilanders which are the same pattern and if I'm honest probably just as good. But they are old and the tread has had a tyre cutter over them to make them more aggressive. Don't think RTV guys will be very happy with those.
So Bar roof rack removal. I'm ready for the nationals with the 90!! YAY! Well with the exception of 2 tyres and 2 offset rims to be shared with the trailer
Get Sunday out the way and then its hitting the trailer until its done!
The back body "fell off" so its no angle and panels.
Joules did you hear about the meet up for the 80 inch working motors/trailers at the nationals? John Carroll is semi getting all the non shiny 80 inch S1's together for a gathering drive.
